Knives have always been fascinating to me. They are such simple and ubiquitous things. They are also very evocative objects, and the line between totem and tool can be hard to see- knives are beautiful, useful, dangerous.
The exploration of the craft of knifemaking has been incredibly rewarding and challenging, offering a tangible and sometimes surprising glimpse into history, metallurgy, and of course cooking.
From humble beginnings this enterprise has begun to grow gradually and steadily entirely thanks to the encouragement and support of the people around me, and especially due to the spread out but connected, thriving, and dedicated community of knife makers so generous with their knowledge and experience.
